South Padre Part 2

Our Weekend Getaway to South Padre Island Part 1

These pictures are in no particular order. My computer is not letting me put them into collages so I just picked a bunch to post in sections for you all to look at. I will try to label where we are at under each for you all to know. However, for Ethan's 15th Birthday we had planned a weekend getaway to South Padre Island, TX and on our way home we stopped in Corpus Christi to go tour the USS Lexington as this was Ethan's request. We had a wonderful time and wish we could have stayed much longer. Next time? We will see.

Ethan turns 15!

I realize I am super behind in posting on the family blog so I am doing some quick posts. These are some pictures from Ethan's 15th birthday. Sami took him to the paintball course and paid for his day on the course and stayed and watched him. He had a blast playing against all adults and all Navy guys and gals. All his gear is his own. He got the hook up at Christmas for sure. He had a blast and goes back when he can. We made him a pot roast for dinner of his choice and his ice cream cake and he got to open all his cards from all his grandparents and his watch from his siblings. The next day Nana and the girls and Elijah and I took him clothes and shoes shopping. He got some new jeans and shirts and new pair of shoes. He was a happy camper. He is now almost 5 11' wearing a 13 size shoe, 30x32 jean and mens large shirts. Yes he is our tallest by far! We love you Ethan! His big present/ family getaway was our beach trip for the weekend down to South Padre Island and then over to Corpus Christi to the USS Lexington which was what he really wanted to do.

A couple of months ago, we were trying to get George Straight tickets and couldn't. So I looked up concerts and found that Jason Aldean was touring and coming down to Austin with Jake Owen as his opening act. So we bought lawn tickets because it was a outdoor concert. This was ofcourse at the beginning of March timeframe. We have been waiting and waiting for May 5th, Cinco de Mayo. We were able to find my mom a ticket so she could go with us and we had a great time and they put on a great concert. They were great with the audience, the music was great and just a overall good time. Now Elijah, well he isn't really into the concert scene, and Ethan liked it but isn't into standing up and jamming out to the music. One day that will change. However, the girls and I were. Hope to go to a couple more concerts this summer too. Here are some highlight pictures from our evening in Austin.

Sami goes to Prom 2013

I wish I could post the video of how Sami was asked to Prom on the blog but it won't let me upload it. It is however on facebook. Kaden spent a week with Sami's friends and teachers making a video done in claymation and other things piecing together "Will you go to Prom with Me, Sami" to all sorts of designs and to the song "Little bit of Devil in her Angel Eyes". Then walked in after the video was showen in her class Kaden with flowers and she said yes. She didn't know it was going to happen and shocked to see her name on this video. Fast Forward to May 4th. Got the dress ready, Hair done, make up on, and off to the Riverwalk we headed with Sami and Friends to take pictures at the riverwalk for Prom. She was just stunning. Half of San Antonio was having Prom to say the least. The Riverwalk was packed with kids out to dinner before Prom. Next year when she is a senior ( 4 weeks left of the year till she can officially say she is a Senior, YEAH SCARY!) I am sure I will be more tear filled, but for now we sit back and watch and let her enjoy her moments.
