Happy St. Patty's Day down at the Riverwalk

This was a laying of the wreath ceremony for all the Irish that died while fighting the war at the Alamo. They had full bagpipe's and color guard ceremony and singing of the Amercian National Anthem and Irish National Anthem. Grandma got chocked up a bit when the bag pipes started playing and she played Amazing Grace and Then Taps for the dead. Her and Grandpa Fay(her dad) love St. Patrick's Day because like me and my family (Scanlon's) are Irish. So it was really neat to see that ceremony.
Then by Poppa's insistence because we had never done this before we took the horse drawn carraiage around part of old town San Antonio. I don't know if any of you know but there is this show on Discovery Channel called Ghost Hunters or something like that, anyway they are based out of San Antonio and we were shown all the hotels and places in town that are on that show and say are haunted. Merger Hotel is the oldest and one of the most haunted places in San Antonio she said, but my kids love this show and they were just asking a hundred questions a minute. Plus we went by the Emily Rose Hotel, Emily Rose was the informant who helped us when Texas back in the shortest war ever on record in a 18 minute battle, and 2 people were killed in this hotel and the movie 1408 was based off this hotel. Emily Rose is also known as "The Yellow Rose of Texas". Interesting stuff!
