Shelby has her first ACL Surgery... Poor Girl

Well Shelby finally had her first complete ACL replacement surgery. This was the night we brought her home. She is still in a lot of pain and when she walks its on 3 legs. She keeps the other lifted. I got her eating and drinking a little bit at a time a day now and we finally got her taking all her meds to help with pain. Is been 2 days since her sugery. She actually for the first time today climbed up on the coach by herself and I had no clue till I went back downstairs to check on her. So that is a good thing. Plus I got her to walk all the way around the house and back for part of her PT process and to eat and drink out of her own dog dish's. She laid down when she did it but its all progress. We have to put a cone on her head when we are not around and at night because she keeps licking and pulling out her stitches. Soon she is going to have to give in and go to the bathroom in her own yard thou! She will pee but rarely. However, she isn't drinking that much either. However, we know she will get better and be up and running soon. However she still has one more ACL to go! Needless to say she is getting babied. I hear her whine and cry from down stairs and I am up and down all night as she can't get up stairs to get me or sleep in our room right now. Keep everyone posted!

Elijah's Playing Basketball!!!

This is another game of Elijah's playing basketball. Its still so cute to watch but he is getting better and screening his guy or girl and making the shots! He has decided to skip soccer season this year and wants to try his hand in Karate. So we will see how that goes as soon as bball season is over which is coming up here shortly as Soccer practices are already starting this week. Chris is coaching Ethan and Hannah's team's again this year. Chris was a little disappointed that Elijah didn't want to play but we try to give them a chance to play one sport a season and what they want. Sami is going to be Chris's assistant coach this year also! So that should be fun, oh how I can hear the arguements now!!! I promise to post some updated pics of Ethan soon. He hates me taking his picture!

Hannah goes to her Valentines Day Dance

This past weekend the Youth Center put on a pre-teen Valentines Day Dance and As you Can see we let Hannah go and she was so excited to go and be with all her friends. When we went to pick her up I was sort of shocked to see all the girls all dressed up. I thought Hannah was way over dressed but nope they all were dressed so nicely and having so much fun. My girl is growing up on me. She was in there dancing with boys and girls.... This dress she is wearing is even sweeter. I don't know why but I love seeing Hannah and Elijah in Sami and Ethan's hand me down nice clothes and Sami wore this to a Christmas dance a couple years back when she first started going. So cute! Then the next night was the Teen Dance that Sami and Ethan went to and were even served a dinner.

Sami and Hannah at thier Basketball Games

Hannah is playing on a all girls team... She Loves it! She plays such good defense. I am so proud of her as are many others. The ref's and the coach's and parents all told her "that's how you play!" she was so excited. The coach from the other team actually gave Hannah a card or paper I am not sure and said "you play next year and call me I want you on my team". She said well my big sister plays bball and is on the JV team. Sami was having a proud big sister moment at that when the coach said "well you keep watching her and keep getting better!"
This is LaPryor the team Sami played over Christmas break and we lost too. This was a home game last Tuesday. THEY WON!!!!!! It was a good game from what I hear and Sami played well and I am so excited for the team. They are not having the best of season's but they are doing their best with all the new girls that are freshman learning the game and how to play high school sports. However, Sami is the co-captain of her team and I love how aggressive she is and how much she loves sports. The season is almost over and homecoming is this weekend. Will post more of Homecoming this weekend.
